理論言語学
The field of theoretical linguistics is conventionally divided into six major areas, which are addressed in the following courses offered at SFC.

To ensure that students who have completed these foundational courses acquire an (introductory to) intermediate level of knowledge, I organize a Special Summer Project during the summer vacation.
これらの基礎講座を履修した人が「入門～中級」の知識を得られるように、夏休みに「夏季特別プロジェクト」を開催し、知識の涵養を図ります。

Furthermore, in the course "Seminar B: Practice in Theoretical Linguistics," students are given the opportunity to engage with more specialized knowledge through activities such as reading and discussing actual research papers. This course also provides support for each student to carry out research practice in various subfields of theoretical linguistics
さらに、「研究会B 理論言語学実践」では、より専門的な知識に触れてもらう機会を提供するために、実際の研究論文の輪読などを行い、各個人が理論言語学の諸分野で研究実践を行える支援を行います。

Seminar B (2) Practice in Theoretical Linguistics: Spring/Fall
Digital Humanities (Corpus linguistics/Natural Language Processing)
デジタルヒューマニティーズ（コーパス言語学／自然言語処理）
My area of specialization lies in integrating quantitative approaches into theoretical linguistics, so ideally I would like to offer courses on methodologies from corpus linguistics, experimental linguistics, and NLP (natural language processing). Unfortunately, due to scheduling constraints, I am unable to do so. Instead, I strongly encourage students to take courses in data science and statistics in order to strengthen their skills in statistical analysis and programming. That said, for those who wish to learn how these techniques can be applied specifically to linguistic data, Seminar B (1) devotes part of its class time to a year-long introduction to statistics, covering topics from the basics to more advanced models.
私の専門が、理論言語学における定量的研究の統合にあるので、コーパス言語学や実験言語学、そして、NLP（自然言語処理）にまつわる手法を学ぶ授業を担当したいところなのですが、残念ながら、コマ数的にこの余裕がありません。SFCの学生さんにはぜひ、データサイエンスや統計学の授業を履修して、統計学やプログラミングの技術を挙げてほしいとは思います。ただし、言語学の実例に即した利活用を知りたいという方のために、研究会B(1)では、授業時間の一部を使い、統計学の初歩から発展的なモデルを一年間かけて学ぶことにしています。

In my seminar, students are in principle expected to write a graduation thesis. To cultivate the skills required for this task, I provide opportunities, mainly through group projects, for them to acquire practical know-how—such as understanding what research entails and how to conduct literature searches
私の研究会では、基本的に卒業論文を書いてもらうことを想定しています。このためのスキルを養ってもらうために、そもそも研究するとはどのようなことか、どのように文献を調べるのかなどの実務的なノウハウを、グループプロジェクトを通して具体的に会得してもらうこと機会を提供します。
